In 411 BC, the Greek playwright Aristophanes wrote Lysistrata, and in 2015 film-maker Spike Lee took this play as his influence for the film Chi-Raq, proving how far we have NOT come and how timely the classic still is today. Join the NHCC Theatre Ensemble as it presents A Lysistrata, a fresh adaptation of this comedy about women withholding sex from their husbands until they agree to stop fighting and end the Peloponnesian War. A fun, frolicking feminist manifesto complete with all the music that made early hip hop great.
